Design Gallerist presents Best Collage Portraits by Derek Gores “One of the 40 important artists of the New Contemporary Movement”.

Derek Gores was born in New York in 1971. He’s best known for ripped paper collage portraits, made using recycled magazine pages and other found parts. He’s had a hot year to date, with several shows and pieces selling for five figures. In addition to his fine art, Derek has worked as a commercial illustrator and designer for 15 years.
The Rhode Island School of Design grad lives and works in Melbourne, Florida, exhibiting and curating with the bold upstarts there, surrounded by the intellect and culture of the Space Coast.

He make something simple and let the elements combine in the head, reacting with each history the viewer brings to the table. When it goes well,he creates a real experience, instead of just a picture of an experience
Using ordinary everyday materials like paper, Gores feels his pieces bridge the gap between artist and viewer, allowing everyone to enjoy the simple visual stimulation a piece of artwork can produce.
Derek Gores’ work provides a sense of mystery and definitely leaves curious, yet intrigued at the same time.
