David Trubridge is a furniture designer based in Havelock North, New Zealand and he’s a collectible craftsman who advocates sustainability gains an international following. His work is produced in New Zealand natural and strives to be as environmentally responsible as possible. He is an artist, designer and owner of his own company, David Trubridge Ltd. The company is well known around the world for its design and manufacture of contemporary lighting, furniture, accessories and larger installations, and for its environmental philosophy and commitment.
David Trubridge graduated from Newcastle University in Northern England in 1972 with a degree in Naval Architecture (Boat Design). For the next ten years he lived and worked in rural Northumberland. He taught himself furniture making while working part-time as a forester on a private estate. He went on to develop his own designs which were exhibited around Britain.

David in Salone Del Mobile in Milan showed his exhibition called “The Elements” with Tsar Carperts. He presents pieces like ‘Beneath’ rugs, the ‘Driftwood’ Bench and the ‘Ruapehu Mountain’ carpet. These proved to be popular resting spots for those who had spent many hours walking and discovering the streets of the city.The beauty of his creations combines the silence and the truth of how we must act , think , and live if we are to make it to the tomorrow.
