Dancing Patterns * Blue Light

Gabey Tjon a Tham developed one idea that take place within a specific architectural space to create interactive forms that engage her audiences. Is through sixteen rotating vertical light wires carry that the patterns are created on space as audio of blowing winds plays in the background. In the case of moving images, the apparatus acts as a mediator between the impossible worlds displayed and the tactile and emotional experiences they invoke in the audience.

Blend the physical real with the virtual nature of the computerized world, was resulting in new realities that might be perceived as material, but remain intangible. Using computer systems, the artist construct audiovisual and material representations of light, sound, movement and space, that allow the experience of alternative notions of reality.

Installation artist Gabey Tjon a Tham work called Repetition At My Distance is a piece in which sound waves are construed and transformed into twists of blue light. This is emotively stunning and mesmerizing at the same time.
