For it’s third edition at Design Miami/Basel, the gallery presents:

RAMY FISCHLER portrait

RAMY FISCHLER is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale de Création Industrielle, ENSCI-Les Ateliers. This Belgian designer, currently based in Paris, has an eclectic approach to design, from research, to industrial design,  artisanal design, or forward-looking design. As the exclusive partner of Patrick Jouin for nearly nine years, he participated in various and diverse projects such as designing the exhibition display of “Parade”, the biggest extramural design exhibition organized by the Centre Pompidou in Sao Paulo, everyday objects such as the “Pastapot” for Alessi, the”Nightcove” alarm clock for Zyken, collections of tableware for Alain Ducasse and Thierry Marx, as well as numerous exhibition displays or cultural events.

Admitted in 2010 into the guest resident program of the Académie de France in Rome, he left Patrick Jouin’s firm to stay at Villa Medici until September 2011. During his stay there, he undertook a research project on formalizing the presentation and residency discourse at this mythical place. The research project is still ongoing and has extended to other cultural institutions undergoing change such as the Palais de Tokyo in Paris.

Because of his passion for keeping the space configuration and furniture separate, and his obsession with meaning, he founded RF Studio in 2011 where he now develops private and public projects of objects and space design.

pierre-gonalons-portrait

PIERRE GONALONS is a product and interiors designer, creative director and scenographer.

Lyon born with an Italian culture background, he offers a vision of design that combines an echo of decorative arts or popular culture to minimalist lines. He sees his times as a meeting between the past and the future and his work, deliberately between the anonymous and the spectacular, gives priority to the expression of the material and how it is used, be it in a modern or a traditional manner. In an overcodified environement he has naturally chosen not to overdraw his creations to let them have a chance to live beyond trends. The spontaneousity of the consumer’s approach is an essential element to him, as well as the main part that the user must play in his own deily fiction.
