Edoardo Tresoldi is an artist, that plays with the transparency of mesh and with industrial materials, making his creations part architecture, part artwork and full on ethereal constructions.
Born in 1987, he grew up in Milan where, at the age of 9, experimented different languages and techniques under the guidance of painter Mario Straforini. His work is made of the seen and the unseen. A out of this world duality exists in his work, a dream-like environment that demands to be mentally re-constructed. In January 2017 he has been included by Forbes among the 30 most influential European artists under 30.
Tresoldi’s body of work is a mixture of senses, always between worlds, the industrial and the poetic, the classical and the modern, the temporary and the permanent, the harsh and the soft. The unreal is now real, and that’s what keep us dreaming, in a light, ethereal world.ETHEREA is his largest installation yet, presented at this year’s Coachella, an annual music festival in Indio, California. Built between the Neoclassical and the Baroque architecture, it comprises three massive site-specific wire mesh structures that allow glimpses of the sky and California landscape to pass through and become one with the piece.
