Galerie Anne-Sophie Duval is considered as a deluxe Art Deco mecca in Paris since it opened more than 40 years ago and it first exhibited Jean Dunand’s lacquer works at the 1972 Paris Biennale. Since then, it has been offering the best of early 20th-century decorative arts and design in an elegant space located in St. Germain-des-Prés on the banks of the Seine. The gallery is now run by Anne-Sophie Duval’s daughter Julie Blum and she continues to promote some of these artists, as well as lesser-known works of the mid-century period.

In the world of design, it’s always good to see that opposites can attract, since you can combine elegant and modern pieces with some antique and simple details – or maybe some complex ones. The works that this gallery shows us are the perfect example for that; after all, it’s important to have unique pieces that you might never have seen before in order that everyone can be pleased or surprised.
