Design Gallerist will give you a tour of the much-anticipated exhibition by Sam Tuffnel, Illuminated Sculptures.
The artist born in Los Angeles, California, in 1978 and now lives and works in New York City where he graduated at BFA, The School of Visual Arts. He’s known for his unmatched and contemporary style. He always tries to challenge himself and the viewers with concepts that try to resolve an issue between sculpture and anti-monumentality.
In the past few years, he did his first show in a collaboration with the New Museum, a lot of public installations, such as Gnome Mountain and sold out constantly his work at art fairs and some big art collectors. Besides all that we have to highlight his two winning awards with “Best in show for sculpture, ‘The Grand Harvest’ exhibition at Williamsburg Art Historical Center” in 2012, “Solo Award Winner Art Expo NYC” in 2013 and his incredible participation since 2013 at the charity show “Art Walk NY, Coalition for the homeless”.
At “Inappropration” Tufnell made a retrospective into his most iconic sculptures as well as some new works that were specially created for this show that is like a visual experience with all the different glowing colors inside an unlightened gallery.
