Unique Console, signed, named and dated by the Artist. Major contemporary sculptor, Jedd Novatt has on rare occasion created functional objects which explore his thoughts of the boundaries between art and object. CHAOS NERVION has been installed in front of the Guggenheim museum in Spain. CHAOS MADRID was part of the Sotheby’s Beyond Limits 2011 exhibition at Chatsworth House in England, for the Artist’s fourth consecutive year of participation.
At the junction of a Geometrical and minimalist aesthetic and the new explorations of contemporary monumental sculpture, Jedd Novatt’s art concentrates on how to sculpt the void: from Metals (bronze, steel, stainless steel) and by using empty cubes, he engages with masses, blurs scales of size creating a subtle play of unbalanced equilibrium of the forms used.
“It is perhaps this quality of mastering danger that gives these works their thrill which is so specific.” Tom Flynn
“Novatt could be the legitimate heir of the work of Eduardo Chillida.“ Tom Flynn
