Marleen Sleeuwits is a Dutch artist who is being represented by Gallery LhGWR in The Hague, Sous Les Etoiles Gallery in New York City and by Gallery FeldbuschWiesner in Berlin.
Struck by the businessman’s surreal experience, Marleen started taking photos inside airports all over Europe. “I thought it was fascinating that there seems to be no actual place or time there,” she says. Her photos are always about objects and installations that have been exhibited among other places.
Her works represented collections of institutions like the Erasmus University Rotterdam; Museum Het Valkhof, KPMG; De Brauw Blackstone and Westbroek; Heden Den Haag; Ministry of Foreign Affairs and various private collections including the Sanders Collection and De Groen Collection.
“It was a good opportunity for me to experiment with this way of working without going bankrupt.“ – Marleen Sleeuwits
