Patricia Urquiola, the empathic designer
Patricia Urquiola looks at each design project as an opportunity to create an empathic connection with the user that interacts with her designs. The first move and base of her projects, “thinking spaces or objects in relation to people”.
Studio Urquiola likes to push the limits of her work, being it design or architecture. Working with different mediums, technology she tries to find a way to move and confront the processes she has in hands.
As much as the studio pushes the boundaries of technology they do so by linking between craftsmanship and heritage, innovation and research. Working with upcycle once-waste material and re-imagining the processes to create change and evolution.
With that in mind, Studio Urquiola designs with the future in sight. Creating design products, from objects to furniture, but also developing architectural work.
