The Pink Zebra, a Concoction of Interior Design Theories

The Pink Zebra, is a concoction of Interior Design theories, merging Funk into the details.

Interior Design

This project, which has been designed by RENESA is located on Kapur, India, and it’s one of the oldest buildings. Helping in identifying that transition of the old to the new through the design channeling and re-architecture, a very bold and fierceful narrative.

Interior Design

The Pink Zebra aka Feast India Co., is a take on the city history. The city of Kanpur was once very important to the British Corporation of India, and this space is has the extravagance of the European Grandeur, but the quirkiness and the Art Nouveau glitz seen trought ou the city.

The project ideia was to create a distinct aesthetic architectural style that connects to the city people and poses its stand by the use of a striking color palette.

A lot of the inspiration came from the clients love for Wes Anderson’s set ideology and his love for fearful quirkiness along with constructed frames throughout the space. Just like in wes movies, the love for extreme symmetry and restricted color palettes can often give the expression of a surreal.

To break the monotony through all the pink came the black and white zebra lines dipping themselves in the previous monotone space. The result to the eye is an space that invites you into a magical, expertly crafted world.
