Joana Vasconcelos is a very well known and respected Portuguese plastic artist all over the world. This time she creates a very romantic work of art for the valentine’s day this year in the city of love. The piece is a big red heart that illuminates the door of Cligancourt nearby Covet Paris.
Currently, the artist exhibited at the Bon Marché and offered her heart to the city of Paris. The Portuguese have installed at the Porte de Clignancourt one of her latest works, her “Heart of Paris”, red and bright, whose inauguration takes place today Valentine’s Day. This was an initiative of Christophe Girard, Franco- Portuguese, Deputy of Culture.
This sculpture called “Heart of Paris”, will be inaugurated at 18:30 pm today by Christophe Girard and Eric Lejoindre the mayor of the eighteenth. Accompany this event will have a free ball organized at the foot of the work and animated by the Petit Orchester Parisien. According to the program, it will have participatory choreography, good mood and especially a lot of love from 7 pm until the end of the night of love.
This work of art is part of the artistic program of the extension of the T3B between Porte d’Aubervilliers and Porte d’Asnieres. Reflecting its neighborhood, lively and welcoming, the work is part of its space that highlights the lively atmosphere of its environment by sending a message of joyful welcome. 3,800 hand-painted azulejos adorn this flamboyant heart that beats to the rhythm of road traffic.
