So we can mix a little here the subjects today we bring a beautiful store that screams “mid-century” all over it. The Row’s, the co-founders Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen looked to their roots for the opening of the brand’s first store. More specifically, a mid-century Californian home that used to be a Sally Hershberger and John Frieda hair salon on Los Angeles’ Melrose Place, which the pair have been visiting since they were children. Inside the grey stucco abode – that’s completely hidden from the street – a 900 sq ft swimming pool (complete with towels folded in a basket nearby) welcomes guests to The Row’s new West Coast home.
The overall design is a combination of both our tastes and it’s all under the lens of Southern California and what Los Angeles means to us. In keeping with the residential feel, space is littered with succulent house plants and modern furnishings that include a Jean Prouvé dining table, Paul McCobb woven chairs, a Fortuny lamp, and Poul Kjaerholm coffee tables – all of which are for sale.
